| Biography:
Kenneth E. Aldous is a senior associate in Proskauer’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. While representing a broad range of entities and individuals in complex litigation before various federal and state courts, Ken concentrates his practice on international and domestic arbitration, as well as on other forms of cross-border dispute resolution. He is an active member of Proskauer’s International Arbitration and Antitrust Practice Groups and a contributing author to Proskauer on International Litigation and Arbitration.
Ken’s experience includes a wide array of commercial disputes, including matters involving: antitrust/competition law; securities litigation; trade secret, copyright/trademark and other forms of intellectual property protection; non-compete and employment-related issues; insurance; sports law; legal ethics; and other commercial disputes. He also maintains an active pro-bono caseload.
A sampling of Ken’s matters includes in-depth representations of: A French cellular telephone provider in federal-court litigation against a U.S. equipment supplier; the Hong Kong-based former executive of a U.S. energy company in an ICDR/AAA arbitration; a major U.S. news corporation in a construction dispute regarding a state-of-the-art production facility; a U.S. pharmaceutical company in an ICC arbitration against a European state over the expropriation of certain foreign investments; and a number of financial services firms in FINRA arbitrations.
Ken also has significant experience representing corporations in internal and regulatory investigations, including matters involving the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and various securities regulators.
Ken received his formal legal training at Boston College Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1999) and King’s College, University of London (Postgraduate Diploma in EC Law, with merit, 2003). He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Local History from Oxford University (with distinction, 2006), a graduate degree in European history from the University at Albany-SUNY (M.A., 1995), and an undergraduate degree in biblical literature from Oral Roberts University (B.A., summa cum laude, 1992), where he received the highest award for academic achievement.
Ken is a member of a number of professional and civic organizations. He serves on the board of King’s College London Association (USA), on the Advisory Board of the Institute of Transnational Arbitration, as the Secretary of the Legal History Committee of the New York City Bar Association, and as an Associate Editor on the American Society for Legal History’s H-LAW Editorial Board.
Ken is a member of the bars of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeal for the Second Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the State of New York.
Ken lives in Sleepy Hollow, New York.
