Mark W. Batten Partner, Proskauer Rose LLP Mark W. Batten assists clients with all aspects of employment policies and practices, including hiring, termination, leaves, accommodation of disabilities, and other matters. He also handles diverse civil litigation, including litigation of noncompetition agreements, ERISA matters, discrimination and wrongful termination litigation in federal and state courts; proceedings before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination; wage and hour matters; and labor arbitrations. He has also written and lectured on employment-related matters, including, for instance, MCLE's Representing Clients Before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
Mark is also an experienced appellate attorney both in employment cases and other civil litigation, handling appeals at all levels in the state courts and in the United States Courts of Appeals.
In his spare time, Mark is an experienced computer programmer, conversant in C, C++, and other languages. He has ported software between computer operating systems and has published several commercial computer games.
Before joining Proskauer, Mark was a trial attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, where he was lead counsel in major litigation for over two dozen federal agencies, ranging from the U.S. Air Force, the CIA, and the U.S. Secret Service to the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Steven M. Bauer Partner, Proskauer Rose LLP Steven M. Bauer is a partner in, and co-chair of, our Patent Law Group, and is head of the Firm's Boston office.
Mr. Bauer has over twenty years of experience concentrating exclusively in matters relating to complex patent and other intellectual property enforcement, litigation, and dispute resolution. Steven is presently vice-chair of the Litigation Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association, and has been an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, where he has taught intellectual property trial advocacy, patent law, and computer law courses. Steven has published a number of papers, speaks regularly to leading patent law and industry groups, and is frequently quoted in the national press on intellectual property issues.
Jon A. Baumgarten Partner, Proskauer Rose LLP Jon A. Baumgarten is widely recognized as one of the country's leading domestic and international intellectual property lawyers, with particular emphasis in copyright and related law.

Jon has been counsel in many leading copyright decisions having lasting impact. Christopher Wolf Partner, Proskauer Rose LLP Christopher Wolf is a litigation partner in the Washington, DC office of Proskauer Rose LLP, and chairs the Firm's Privacy and Data Security Group.
Within the area of privacy law, Christopher focuses especially on the law applicable to the financial services industry, such as Gramm-Leach-Bliley.
He is the author of the Financial Privacy chapter of the recently-published Proskauer on Privacy, a treatise of the Practising Law Institute (PLI). Christopher was Editor and Lead Author of that treatise. He also is a regular instructor at CLEs on financial privacy and he teaches and speaks widely on privacy law issues generally.
