Howard Shapiro will speak on "Benefit Issues for the Non-Specialist" at the 2010 Employment Law Briefing, presented by the National Employment Law Institute. As benefit issues dramatically impact labor and employment lawyers and their clients, this session will examine and discuss recent ERISA litigation, including benefit claims, fiduciary duty litigation, cash balance plans, and other plan investment issues; severance plans, an important tool in the current downsizing of work forces; IRC ยง 409A, a major factor in any executive compensation scenario or any negotiations impacting upper echelon officers; and COBRA and other health plan issues.
