Overview
In a litigious culture in which consumers and government agencies relentlessly pursue class actions and individual cases against industries and product lines, our Product Liability & Consumer Litigation Group is prepared to stop and defend any suit, protecting the short- and long-term business interests of our clients every step of the way.
Having handled notable cases involving the pharmaceutical and medical device, health care, automotive, electronic device, software, financial services and construction industries, our lawyers focus on efficient management of the issues and challenges that arise during the entire course of a case, adeptly mitigating their costs in terms of both potential liability and brand reputation. And because the issues in these cases are rarely confined to one jurisdiction, we are typically engaged to serve as national counsel, providing defense strategy and coordination both in jurisdictions where we maintain offices and in those where we team with local counsel.
We have litigated, as both national and local counsel, hundreds of product liability and consumer cases that require an understanding of complex scientific and engineering issues relating to allegations of defective design and manufacture and medical issues related to injury causation. We also have tremendous experience in the thorough investigation of the medical and social history of plaintiffs to identify alternative causation.
