November 16, 2016 (NEW YORK) – Two hundred fifty-five volunteers from Proskauer’s Boston, DC, New York and Los Angeles offices, alumni and friends of the Firm gathered on November 7 and 8, Election Day, to answer 3,150 calls from voters in Ohio, Tennessee, South Carolina and Arkansas. This effort is in partnership with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, a nonpartisan voter protection coalition that aims to ensure eligible voters are able to participate in fair voting practices at their designated sites.
The Firm has grown its capabilities and capacity working with Election Protection – from handling just one state to four since the Firm’s first election cycle with the organization in 2004.
As in previous election cycles, our Election Protection volunteers underwent substantial training leading up to the two-day event, to be equipped to answer difficult questions about voting rights as well as free speech.
Proskauer’s partnership with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law is part of our robust CSR and pro bono programs offering significant opportunities to Firm employees at every level of experience in each of our offices and practice departments.
